New Directions Community Outreach Services, Inc. is behavioral health organization that offers a variety of services including Intensive In-Home Services, Mental Health Community Support Services, and Mentoring Services throughout Central and Southern Virginia. We serve clients that are experiencing significant behavioral or emotional difficulties and who have a mental health diagnosis. New Directions strives to break the negative cycles of violence, incarceration, substance abuse, truancy, poverty and early pregnancy that plague many at-risk youth. At-risk youth often adopt dysfunctional behaviors that are modeled in and outside of their environment. As a part of our comprehensive program, we believe in taking a proactive approach by reducing gateway behaviors before they lead to more severe disruptive or unlawful activities.

A one-year Commission on Accrediation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) accreditation was awarded to New Directions Community Outreach Services for its Intensive Family-Base Services. CARF accreduations demonstrates a program's quality, transparency, and commitment to the satisfaction of the persons served. CARF International is an independent, not-for-profit accreditor of human service providers, i.e., Behavioral Health, and Child and Youth Services.
